November has been a busy month. Here’s some content updates this month on soapnote.org:
Documentation templates
There are a bunch of physical exams you can bookmark on your browser (or on this site if you register).
http://www.soapnote.org/child-health/general-exams/ includes a newborn, age-specific, and a sports physical.
http://www.soapnote.org/child-health/acute-exams/ includes croup, acute infant exams, and upper respiratory exam templates.
http://www.soapnote.org/general/general-adult-physical-exams/ includes generic general, male, and female exams.
http://www.soapnote.org/musculoskeletal/musculoskeletal-exams/ includes neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, and knee pain.
http://www.soapnote.org/general/adult-chronic-exams/ includes a diabetes exam.
Dr. Scott Moses donated some templates based on the Epic EHR. Those can be found at http://www.soapnote.org/tag/moses/
Also, I made a laceration note builder at http://www.soapnote.org/wounds/laceration-note/
Calculators – there’s a whole bunch of these, too. The newest ones are:
C-Spine radiography rules at http://www.soapnote.org/musculoskeletal/c-spine-rules/
A decision tool for lumbar spinal stenosis at http://www.soapnote.org/musculoskeletal/lumbar-spinal-stenosis-dx/
A BMI calculator that also gives printable output with weight cutoffs for obesity category by height at http://www.soapnote.org/endocrine-metabolic/bmi-number-crunching/
I haven’t had a lot of luck in getting any grants to help cover costs of the site. One thing you can do that helps, is click on adds. I hope you’ll find the site continues to get better over the next few weeks and months. As always, I’m open for suggestions, and especially for ideas to modify these templates, calculators, and decision rules or make new ones.
Sincerely,
Mark Morgan MD
