COPD Assessment Test (CAT) 1. Cough (0-5): 0 (never coughing), 5 (coughing all the time) 2. Phlegm (0-5): 0 (no phlegm in my chest), 5 (chest is full of phlegm) 3. Chest Tightness (0-5): 0 (no chest tightness), 5 (severe chest tightness) 4. Breathlessness (0-5): 0 (no breathlessness with walking uphill or 1 flight of stairs), 5 (very breathless walking uphill or 1 flight of stairs) 5. Activities (0-5): 0 (no limitation in home activities), 5 (complete limitation in home allergies due to lung condition) 6. Confidence (0-5): 0 (I can leave my home confidently), 5 (cannot leave home confidently due to lung condition) 7. Sleep (0-5): 0 (I sleep soundly), 5 (I don’t sleep soundly at all due to my lung condition) 8. Energy (0-5): 0 (lots of energy), 5 (no energy at all) CAT ≥10 corresponds to either GOLD Group B. Group B patients’ preferred treatment is to start either on LABA, or LAMA and if persistent symptoms then combination LAMA/LABA therapy—these are the minimum for patients with CAT Score ≥10. CAT <10 corresponds to GOLD Group A. Group A patients’ preferred treatment is to start bronchodilator (LABA or LAMA) and evaluate the effect.
